Welcome to Tom Chevalier’s genealogy web site. I first published this in 2005, but technology has progressed, as has my knowledge. I am slowly adding to the site, so when you come back again it may have changed.
One of the aspects I intend to cover on this site is my family history research. My paternal family name of Chevalier originate from the Channel Island of Jersey, my maternal name of Sandercock is from Altarnun in Cornwall, England.
Other names of in the family are: Erben (came to London in 1880’s from Troppau, Cechoslovakische Republik), Cloke (Kent and Devon), Bidwell (Kent and Devon), Elcombe (Kent) and Carroll (Ireland).
If any member of the family referred to on these pages wishes to add, correct or remove any details then please let me know. The family trees do not include personal information of living relatives and, where possible, do not include current generations. The photos are broadly split by family, although as the various families married each other you will have to look at each family!

I believe the information on this site to be correct, but remember a family tree is a living thing that grows over years, I hope many branches will thrive and develop, but others may wither and die when I prune out errors. I know there are errors in the family trees on this site, I just have not had time to check/correct all the information. As other folk searching their history will appreciate it is a life’s work, and even then life events keep happening…
